Spectra are said to be the “letters from the molecule”. If we are able to receive and read these letters from the molecule, we know many details on what the molecule is like, what the molecule is doing, how long the molecule lives, what environments the molecule lives in and so on. Spectroscopy teaches you how you receive and read spectra. By learning spectroscopy, you can open “chemical eyes” to see the wonderful world of molecules. In this class, I would like to guide you to this wonder world of molecules by teaching the very fundamental aspects of spectroscopy as shown in the following.
Interest in nature is the only thing that is required for this class.
No textbook is used. Attending the lecture is more important. Studying books is less important.
